Aspirant's Selection Process

The objective of the selection process of new members shall be systematic and consistent, and in keeping with the high ideals of our Fraternity. Further, each member shall reflect credit upon our Fraternity, inwardly and outwardly

Once aspirant’s requirements are satisfied, the candidates for the New Membership Class shall be selected through a three stage process. During the first stage (the Investigation Stage); the National Office will conduct an investigation to identify following dynamics:

  • A candidate’s prior denial or termination of membership with Beta Phi Pi Fraternity, Inc.
  • A candidate’s current involvement with any other organization that would prohibit him from fulfilling his duties or pose a conflict of interest as a member of Beta Phi Pi Fraternity, Inc.
  • Undesirable behavior that would lead the National Office to believe that a candidate would be unable to uphold and/or promote the ideas, aims, and goals of the Fraternity

Once aspirant clears the Investigation stage, the candidate will participate in an interview session.  During the second stage (the Interview Stage); the National Office will interview the candidates using the Fraternity Questionnaire.

If the aspirant also passes the Interview Stage, the National Office will notify the chapter in the area of which the candidate is seeking membership; that the applicant is approved to participate in the New Membership Class.

Once the chapter is informed of approval of the aspirant from the National Office, the chapter will voted to approve the candidate’s participation in the New Membership Class.  During the third stage (the Chapter Selection Stage), the active membership of the chapter in which the candidate is seeking membership; approves of the aspirant inclusion in the New Membership Class by a voting process outlined in the chapter’s by-laws.

Once the aspirant has been selected, the candidate must completed and submit a New Member Payment Agreement form prior to their participation in the New Membership Class.
